Detroit kokes tomorrow?

considering heading to Detroit tomorrow for some kokanee fishing. never been before. any tips and tricks, and anyone want to go?

I was up there about 3 weeks ago.  Right after the rain shower (or during it) we caught several long lining on the surface.  About half trout and half kokes.  We did well on the nice days fishing around the 80 to 100 ft deep transition zone with down riggers - near the end of the island.
We got limits with black and white or gold wedding rings tipped with corn.

Detroit has probably been stocked with trout, so it'll be harder to target the kokanee specifically.  I've found the kokanee tend to bite earlier in the morning and deeper than the trout.  If you have a downrigger, use it, otherwise a 1oz or 2oz lead with a snubber will work.  I use various dodgers and lures with short 8" leaders (spinners or hoochie lures tipped with one corn kernel per hook). Some people have been catching chinook too - I got lucky and caught one using a green bladed Rocky Mountain Assassin spinner in 40ft of water just west of the island heading towards the Mongold Ramp after a limit of kokes.  Good Luck!
