Just thought I would throw this out there, Tuna are 10-12 miles off from Charleston, Oregon right now and looks like their coming in closer. 95% of the sports boats are limiting out in 2 hours max. Boats are coming in with anywhere from 75 fish to 100 fish in the mid 20's to the mid teens in weight.

Damn.  What charters are around there?  I'm not up for a 25 mile round trip (plus trolling around miles) in the kayak.  Wonder on the odds of a July 10 opening ...

It's totally blowing out this afternoon.  If you aren't already out there, don't go.  If you are already out there, consider packing it in right now.  You should have been there yesterday.

When I got reports of a bazillion albacore 14 miles out I got really excited too.  Hopefully it happens again, maybe with a few hour's warning, and if I can at all swing it I'll be there.  It will take me almost a day to beg/borrow/steal an AI and I think I'd want one for anything over 10 miles out.  That's a long day pedaling.

Interested.  Curious if anyone has ever got tuna from a kayak without a mothership in the PNW.

Rats!  We're under gale warnings and small craft advisories pretty much all this coming week.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
