My wife and I just got two (now) 9 week old American Water Spaniel puppies.  They will be trained as retrievers for my duck hunting and my wife will train hers to do agility also.  But my pup will spend a lot of time in the Wavewalk.  Yesterday was her first trip as we went out and and picked up a limit of Kokanee at my favorite little lake, Lake Devereaux.  She was completely uninterested in the fish but she did enjoy stretching out in the sunshine.  They are a small/midsized dog and will be about 35 lbs as adults.  Perfect size for the Wavewalk and a duck hunting companion in a kayak.  Anyone else regularly fish with their dogs?

I am no longer a dealer for Wavewalk but if you ever want to paddle one let me know!

for sure, my Lab-Catahoula mix loves riding in the front seat of my Oasis...at 75# she is perfect ballast up front.
(she was rescued at 1yo from the desert outside Phoenix and doesn't swim)

I have tried taking our 45# golden doodle out on the kayak a few times and the biggest problem is that she LOVES swimming and get anxious being in the kayak close to the water without being able to jump in.
The first 30 minutes or so she can't settle down and wants to stand, sit, lay, stand, sit, lay constantly. It would be a little difficult to fish with her moving around so much on the kayak. Maybe when/if we get an oasis it will be better suited for taking the pup.

My Aussie Brodie loves to go out on my Outback! I built him a deck to rest on. He weighs 50 lbs and slows me down a little but it's worth it. The PFD is helpful when he goes in and I have to haul his wet butt back out!

Most boxers are not fond of swimming in the water. This is Jazzmin she is almost 8 and loves to go out. And yes... she wants to go for an "un-announced" swim once in a while. But she does even better now that she has a life jacket just like that.

Love seeing all the dogs on the yaks!  Too fun!

Here's one with the pup on the Wife's kayak, unfortunately it looks like my waterproof case was all fogged up... More to come later.

Nice pups guys! I do not have a pup, but a kitten. Does anybody have an experience with taking a cat for a kayak fishing?
