well i managed to get my yak on the water today although i didn't have the necessary cold water gear...i took my chances in a bathing suit and a tshirt....i didn't go more than about 20 feet from shore though lol...

so it floats and doesn't seem to take on water at all...i was really happy with how dry and fast the ride is

now this weekend i gotta get coldwater gear so i won't be so scared to go more than a 5 second swim from shore...or at least go farther down the coast

Congrats. Did you know that coho and cutthroat often travel close to the beaches? :P Next time try trolling a small thin bladed spoon, especially early or late in the day. ;)

well i live about 2 blocks from fauntleroy vashon ferry....so i just took it down...there is an access about a 1/4 mile south of the ferry that is actually a driveway...but still its a public access there is only about 15 ft of public beach but it has a paved sidewalk down to the sand so it works nice...plus i can walk to it from my house

as for what kayak i have is a 2008 hobie revolution fish....no upgrades yet mostly still trying to get my coldwater gear handy but should be getting most of that taken care of today....if anybody is interested n showing me the ropes on the fishing stuff let me know....can always park at my house and roll the yaks down to the water lol....i haven't tried fishing up here at all...actually i gotta go this week and get my fishing license since i finally got instate DL

I live on Vashon, take the ferry 1 or 2 times a week, would be glad to stop and chat sometime!
