So, blasted up to Myrtle Tree dock to toss some spinners off the dock last. I get there about 5:00 P.M and toss for about 45 minutes to an hour to no avail. During that time i must have saw 50 rollers, some big old fish.. The few boats left on the river were Back Bouncing(or straight lining, as they called it) Just drifting alone the edge with the tide  and bouncing eggs along the bottom with a slinky weight, say one caught.

Go back up there early this morning to try off the dock again and theres a boat drifting by, "straight lining" and he hooks a jack, powers back up stream(tide) only about 200 yards maybe, total. About every three four drifts they hook a fish, all jacks. So after a bit i say to the guy..no.4?, he says "no, No. 5". "and we caught 8 last night"

"I'm like wow! we gotta do this, now!!" So we go hit up the Bi-Mart and Bites On tackle shop for all the proper fixin's for some serious fish catching action, woo hooo!!

Load up the yaks and head out to Myrtle Tree, the excitement of the pending bounty of jacks coursing through my veins, knowing for sure there would be a stray monster 'nook grab my hook.. I launch and hurriedly rig up a sticky sweet sack of eggs.

Same 200 yard drift that gave up her bounty to the pollution spewing stink pot >:D ...1,2,3  "ok, just a little slow tonight" 4,snag,5,snag,snag..."just gonna turn on here in a sec"
6,7,8,snag. "no, this can't be happening"....9,10,snag 11,snag.."damn this suck's, I'm going home"

And here i sit, torn asunder, my resolve tested, bested by a fish..

So, i will have take solice in the definite ,for sure pending bounty ..of Cod on the Big blue.  ;)

See ya on the water..
Roy
