so went out to molalla river state park got there around 11:30 paddled upstream and proceeded to catch fish woo hoo!!!!! maybe the best day i have had on the river this year so far. the fish hit everything, crank baits, slip bobber rigs and flies. the weather was overcast at first then quickly cleared and got sunny and the power boaters showed up in force, so i paddled up the molalla river and caught even more fish ;D. had to be off the water by 330 as it was dad"s birthday at the boat launch there was a family running jet skis with about 3 little kids and they did not want to get out of the way. only bad part of the trip........and the sunburn.

The Mo is a great little "secret".  Really fun to paddle up and fish along the way.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

The last time I was up there (last year) there was a log jam that made it so you couldn't paddle up the Mollala. Has it cleared, or did you portage? Just curious.

Lots of jet-skis and wakeboards any nice weekend day up there, fwiw. If you get on the river at dawn and off at 11 it's usually fine.

you are able to paddle up with no portaging, just have to be aware of some underwater logs. i tied off to one and as on the upriver side of the log the water was shallow on the down river side it was deep. caught a few there with a slip bobber and jig.
