I'm getting married on Saturday, and the wonderful bride to be is ok with bringing the kayak on the honeymoon to Lake Chelan. I'm planning on bringing my downrigger for a shot at some Kokanee, but I would like to expand my fishing options. Roses Lake is supposed to be good for channel catfish, but I've never fished the species or area. Does anyone have experience fishing Roses lake for channel cats? What bait or lures do you use? What kind of depths hold fish? Any info is appreciated!
Kevin

Have no experience there either, but congrats on the wedding! It sounds like you've got a good one!

It's a lake I've always wanted to fish. Up until last year the lake held the state record Tiger Trout (brown & brook trout hybrid).

Thanks, she's definitely a keeper!   Tiger trout would be a new species for me as well. I'll have to bring a few flies in case I don't have luck with the catfish.

I'd suggest if you're trolling using lead core line and jointed Rapalas or flatfish.  Better bites in the morning or towards evening.

Tiger trout are usually piscivores, so if you go for them bring streamers or lures to imitate whatever bait might be in that lake (never fished there). They're not likely going to take dry flies or anything like that

Good to know. I will bring a few Rapalas and other lures that imitate bluegill and perch.
