Anyone interested in crossing the surf for lings or other, preferably within 20 miles of Newport on Sunday? Forecast is for crisp, calm weather and reasonable seas.

Wannabe, have you ever fished the Seal Rock area? It looks like a good place to launch on nice days, and lots of structure to fish on. I would be willing to try it some time if I can find someone to fish with. It's about 35 miles from Florence, so it's not nearly as far as Sunset Bay for me. I really wanted to go fishing today, but the wife's on vacation, Annies not doing very well, and I had a job to do. Oh well, there will be other good weather days!

Nope, haven't fished south of Newport yet, but I've heard good things about Seal Rock. It sure looks "right." Lemme know when you can give it a try. On the right day, I'd even meet you over there mid-week.
