The Kokatat Goretex dry bibs are SOOOPER pricey: $520 bucks.  The zipper is weird, it's transverse instead of vertical, looks like it was designed by someone with a twisted idea of male anatomy----the zipper is up by the navel!!
The Tropos bibs are only (?!!) $185 but have no zipper.  Someone handy with a heavy duty sewing machine could fit a waterproof drysuit zipper in the proper place for cheap, I would think.

Yeah man, I have a real love/hate relationship w/ Gore. It's the most functional material that makes the biggest difference that I've ever encountered. Unfortunately it's got a price tag that reflects that as well. :-\ We gotta find a place that sells their last year's versions for cheap. The zipper isn't right there in your crotch but I think that's the idea. I may be wrong but where it's put may be purely for ergonomics and so the zipper doesn't shred the surrounding material. Makes it harder to pee but still possible.

I have a front zipper.  It is heaven.  I pee into the foot well and it flushes out the scupper.  I got no problems with the horizontal zipper placement.  I think it might actually be easier that way when in a seated position.

a zipper is nice, but this works great for guys who don't want to do the secret fish dance to get out of a drysuit a half mile offshore.

Attaches to a bag with a one way valve. A separate drain valve keeps its contents safely (?) stored until you get somewhere that you want to give a bonus nitrogen boost to. MOST important is it does not involve any kind of insertion like a hospital catheter.
Yeah, I know its WAAAY too much information, but its why y'all keep me around  ;D

I've surfed all my life, a back zip wetsuit, or nowadays; a no-zip wetsuit works great. For kayaking, I prefer famer john type suits with a front zip for the obvious reasons. If it's chilly, I wear a jacket, when it warms up, you can unzip the wetsuit and fold it down.
Gore-tex and similar membrane waterproof garments will eventually become clogged and need to be cleaned. Love Gore Tex for snowboarding, for water use I'll stick with neoprene waders or wetsuits.
