Has anyone ever trolled for Salmon in Yaquina Bay in Newport? Or would the strong tidal exchange there be too difficult?

A few years ago put in at the Toledo ramp and trolled that area with C Run, beautiful day but was blanked on the catching part. Tidal influence wasn't noticable, I haven't fished closer to the jetty's so can't speak to that area near the bridge or in the harbor.

my first kayak salmon came from the Yaquina.  Trolling near the Oyster Farm.  This past weekend was a salmon tournament called U da Man -- lots of chinook caught between the jaws and Toledo boat ramp.  It's not a huge run, but there are fish to be caught.
