Hello everybody,
Just joining NWKA.  I bought two Slayer 10 Propel yaks in late summer.  I mostly fly fish and wanted them for chasing sea run cut throats and still water trout/bass.  So far I've only done fresh water.  I spent a lot of time figuring out how to get the boats on top of my Camry.  Ended up having Rack & Road custom install Whispbar crossbars and I use Malone Telos lift assist arms to hook into Whispbar J cradles using some pieces of formed King plastic Starboard to connect.  The Camry looks a bit too heavy but works pretty well.
Looking forward to getting out on the Sound - though it's getting close to when the weather suggests I should just tie flies.

Welcome Dave. I do most of the salt water fishing (Kayak point and Shilhole Bay) and would like to learn where to go for freshwater fishing. May be we can get together for fresh water fishing next year.

Hi Dave, the rack looks great! Just don't skip the bow and stern straps. I learned the hard way. Too much metal fatigue for small cars. I want to learn how to fly fish some day. It's on my list.

Welcome to NWKA.  You're already a giver by sharing how you load your kayaks on your car.  Thanks for that - looks like a secure solo solution.  Looking forward to seeing photos of your fishing adventures!

I'm in Kent and spend more time on the salt that fresh, but after catching a few trout in Lake WA, seems like a good place for winter jaunts.

Welcome David, It can be good fishing just outside the Edmonds Harbor especially on odd years for humpies. You could launch from the park at the south end of the port, just past the dry storage area.

Welcome,

I am over in Lake Forest Parka and fly fish out of my Hobie PA 14.  I am close to Lake Washington but only done that once since I got the kayak last summer, though it is on my list.
