I'm stoked I found this website and the wealth of knowledge everyone here contributes. This past year I invested in an inexpensive 10ft kayak from Walmart for fishing local lakes and reservoirs. I had a lot of fun catching rainbows and smallies, and that under stable, terrible tracking, and uncomfortable kayak has helped me learn what features to look for in my next kayak purchase. I have every intent to upgrade to an outback in the very near future, and am excited about the variety of fishing it will allow me to do. off shore fishing looks like a blast, and I am hopeful that I will be able to make some fishing buddies in the coos bay area to help me learn the ropes.

I think all of us on this forum learned a lot from our first kayak! And from our second and third kayak as well.  Sounds like you had fun in your first kayak. I hope you'll have even more fun in your Outback.

Welcome, welcome! Once this weather clears up I'm sure the word is going to get out for fish time in the ocean and surrounding lakes. For now go back over older posts and learn all that you can-safety and fishing techniques so you'll be ready when the time comes.

Well Nick... You have found the right place! And so the addiction continues... Glad to be an enabler! Hopefully there will be a window of opportunity for getting salty over the next few months and we will usually post up for a gathering. You are welcome to join us when you get all your needed gear together! Also don't forget that there is great fishing in those costal lakes. In fact some of the best Yellow Perch fishing I've done was in November.

Welcome!

There's plenty of fishing in your neighborhood while you wait to get salty.

Welcome! We all learn so much from our first Kayaks! Then our third, fifth, tenth... All solid lessons that can't be conveyed in a classroom! You'll love the Outback for sure! Definitely a good crew of strong anglers in your area to continue your education. Enjoy the new addiction!!
