Anything deeper than 66 feet, and the fish could have a problem getting back down. 

I have seen guys use a 12oz jighead with the mainline tied to the bend of the hook.  Pinch the barb, insert into lower lip, drop, jerk and save a fish.  Not sure if legal, but it seemed to work.
