Hello all!

This is my first post here, but I've been browsing the other useful posts here for a while now.  I live in Lynden and I am looking forward to the kayak fishing from my new '17 Hobie camo Outback.  I've got it rigged so far with a manual Penn 620 downrigger and a Lowrance Elite TI 5. I also bought a used Kokatat drysuit from Craigslist.  I've got a lot of trips planned so far including Lake Roosevelt, Lake Samish, Lake Whatcom, and the Columbia near Woodland for spring Chinook.
I sold my boat almost a year ago since it was too much to handle using the downriggers, getting it off the trailer, and driving it myself most of the time.  I see a lot of guys doing real well from these kayaks, I'm hoping to soon be one of them!
If anyone local wants a partner let me know!  I'd love to go out with someone else too.

Keith

Welcome to NWKA Keith. You are going to love fishing out of your Outback. I love mine. I'm sure there will be plenty of people to fish with where you are. If you are ever in Coeur d' Alene area and want to fish there message me I'd be glad to go out with you.

Thanks for the offer Brit!

I love the Couer d'Alene and Sandpoint areas and actually I am from Idaho (Boise).  When I retire in about 3 years we are moving back to Idaho, but which place is still under consideration. Do the lake(s) there have good fishing?  A couple of years ago we stayed at the large motel on the lake but didn't fish.  It was on our Harley trike trip coming back from Glacier National Park.

Washington has a lot of excellent fisheries. More than enough to keep you really busy. I’d love to fish there but I can’t afford the travel and license expenses.
Lake Pend Oreille is a very good  fishery.

Along with Priest Lake.

Lake Coeur d’ Alene has some huge Northern Pike, Small and Largemouth Bass. Landlocked Chinook Salmon and a good quantity of Kokanee, what the Kokes lack in size (10” average) they make up for in quantity.
Tight lines. You are going to have a blast fishing in the many fine fisheries in your area.

Welcome Keith! Sounds like you have a good setup on your outback. I live in the Everett area, and usually fish Snohomish, Skagit, and Island counties for Salmon, Lings, and trout. Let me know if you are planning a trip, and need a partner.

Thanks Ravensfan, I'll do that.  I've also been looking at maps of the Tulalip Bubble, close to you.  Maybe you'd like to fish Baker Lake too - good Sockeye seasons (I've heard).  I'll PM you my number, we'll definitely hook up.  My wife will be worried if I don't go with someone else.
