Just left the Submarine service in Bremerton and relocated to Tillamook as a cheese factory Refrigeration and Boiler mechanic. Been browsing these forums over a couple of years and decided to finally join. I have no friends or family in the area so I figured fishing is a way to change that.

I have a Nucanoe Frontier 12 that I thought was a better choice at the time when I preferred a motor to a paddle but I've learned a lot, I'm working extra overtime and will be buying a Jackson Kraken next month. I was a surfer before a Kayaker so I prefer Offshore and BTB. But I'm open to all fishing. I haven't fished in months and it's killing me.

Here's my last fish I caught on a dry fly back in August.

Welcome!

BTB=Beyond the Breakers.  Not in common usage out here, a forum search shows 5 posts in the last 10 years used the term.  I had to look it up the last time someone used it.

Lots and lots of sunfish in Oregon if that's your thing.  I like to take the kids out and catch them by the bucketload.  Bluegill are a gateway drug, that's for sure.

I do a lot of fishing in your area.  I'm either fishing the Wilson River from the bank for steelhead or salmon or in the bay crabbing and fishing for rockfish along the Jetty from my kayak.  Welcome to the area!
I'm surprised mojo hasn't been all over this post yet... He must be up to his elbows in engine grease.  I'm sure he'll be along shortly. 😁

I've attempted to bank fish here, but the Locals have been very hesitant to talk locations with the "New Guy" so I got skunked on Chinook and Steelies. But I did manage to drop a Blacktail up the Trask North Fork. I'm currently gearing up for Bottomfishing. Just got a New Lamiglas and Drysuit. Not that I needed another Rod haha.

I haven't had the best of luck steelhead fishing but you're more than welcome to come with me next time I go out.  PM me your info and I'll give you a heads up when I head out again.

And in my experience, you always need another rod! 😈

Don't tell anyone, but some guys will sneak over to Mill Bridge park on OR-6 just outside of town and fish from the bank for steelhead and salmon.

Keep this one under your hat.
