Penn downrigger mounted on a Hobie Outback

Figured I'd post a couple pictures of my downrigger mounted on my Outback since I couldn't find any posts of a Penn DR mounted forward of the seat. First, a big thanks to everyone who's posted their mounting ideas!
I chose a Penn over the cannon and Scotty mostly because I had a couple sitting around,  but also because I really like the smooth controlled way it lets line out and the large numbers on the line counter.
I used black Starboard to make the mount and used SS T-nuts recessed into the underside of the mount to make it removable. A note on using t-nuts on starboard...the starboard is really dense making it hard for the teeth in the t-nut to really sink in. Next time I will try slow heating up the board or heating up the nut with a torch and then cooling it with water as soon as it sinks in.
I wanted the mount to be solid so it fits on the bottom of the tray and solid on the rails. You can tighten the bolts as much as you want without them trying to pull through

Tried it out on Tanwax lake and it was perfect.

I used an 8 lb ball because that's the smallest I have and it was no problem. I still think I'll get a 6 for lakes.
