I've been cooking professionally for 20 years now.  Figured its time to put a bit more focus into my fishing.  This site has already been a huge help.  I love fishing and hunting, but did not grow up with or been taught to do either first hand.  I have done 3 seasons of Elk thus far (I haven't bagged one yet, but still an amazing week each year), and have done my share of crabbing.  I have been going fishing for years now (8 in central FL), and the last 3 here in the Seattle area.  I love fishing, but have never taken it seriously, or been that concerned with being "successful", as I find just the act of getting out on or near the water by yourself is enough reward.  Pretty much would buy the cheapest walmart rig with a few of the cheapest lures that looked like they would not get snagged up (didn't matter what they were intended to catch), and then head out and throw the line in and kick back.  Although, I still enjoy just the act, I figured it was about time to put some effort (and money) into it.  I have just finished V 1.0 of my rod holder/trolling motor mount for my Tamarack Angler kayak, and am heading out tomorrow for some 'Sea Trials'. Also, dropped quite a bit at sportsmans warehouse to get all of the gear that Spot laid out in his explanation for the kayak trolling rig.  Glad to be a part of this, and hopefully get to a point where I can contribute.  Cheers

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Fishingchef, Nice to have you on.  Being an eternal optimist, what's your suggestion for some nice flaky walleye fillets after a quick trip to Moses Lake?
