Anyone interested in trying something new next Sunday? How about some place familiar? Salt? Fresh?

I'll be on the road all week but I've got Sunday reserved for visiting some of my fishy friends. Suggestions? Company?

Hey Jay,

I don't know if I'll get a free pass for Sunday yet but I have a few fishy ideas.  If you want to try something new, I'm determined to get some walleye out of Multnomah Channel one of these days.  I'd also be willing to check out a coastal estuary for chinook if the bite ever picks up.

I'll just have to make sure I plan a fabulous day of activities for the family on Saturday to make up for leaving them on Sunday.  If anyone knows of a good pumpkin patch let me know.

Sauvie Island typically has some great pumpkin patches, hay rides, corn mazes, the whole works. It's been a couple years since we've taken the kids, but it's always a good time. Weather's supposed to be good this weekend, at least so far. Here's a couple links:

I might be up for fishing Sunday as well. Should know by tonight. Up for pretty much anything Portland to Hood River.

It's been a few years since I've been to the Pumpkin Patch at Sauvie Island but we're going Saturday as well to take the little one out for her first pumpkin "hunting" trip. I hope the pumpkins are showing themselves.

I'll be back in town tonight. I hope to get my FF online and on the water by Sunday. I'll be up for anything at all.

Yep, I've lost almost an entire year of fly fishing...but I've really enjoyed the ride.  ;D

I'll be hunting some steel in a few weeks with my fly rod and maybe even some kings.

For now, I'm off to the garage to Goop some foam onto the hull for my xdcr.

Enjoy the kayak pimping, but don't over do the fume sniffing.

Foam xdcr mount is curing. Tonight I hope to fabricate v2 of the mount adapter. My first version was with acrylic, much to brittle. I also learned to drill holes first and then cut to shape. 2 of the screw holes cracked when drilling too close to the edge. After speaking to people at TAP Plastics, I picked up some scrap ABS. They said this would be much easier to work with.

I also now have a custom Rod Pod on my Big Game. If I'm careful, I can even get a rod with reel in and out.

Sunday/Monday tides, seas and wind not working with us this week. I'm still thinking of heading out to the Nehalem (paying dues?). Any other thoughts or suggestions? I'd be up for anything on Sunday.
