Hey All,

I'm happy to have joined your ranks at long last. After dwelling on the decision to buy a kayak, I finally pulled the trigger last week and got a Sea Eagle 370 inflatable kayak. I know it's not the best, nor is it the preferred hard body sit on top style, but it fits well within my budget and space limitations at the moment. I hope to get out there soon for some smallmouth bass fishing on the Tualatin as my entry level yak fishing endeavor. Following that, my plans for yak fishing are wide open.

I'd love to get out on the water with someone nearish to Portland to show me the ropes, or learn alongside another novice such as myself. Any tips or suggestions for someone just starting out in this sport?
