Lingcod season

Hey all,

I am new to Washington and kayak fishing.  With lingcod season opening in a couple days I was looking for information on where to find good lingcod structure in the Puget Sound.  I've searched around a little bit but haven't found much. 

I've had good luck fishing the west side of San Juan island and off of Henry island. Watch your tides, the current gets ripping through the Haro straight, and there can be some sneaky waves from the cargo ships that pass through. Live kelp green lings are their favorite food in my opinion, but you can catch them on jigs, herring, or sand dabs. Possession sound is another good spot for lings, but expect a lot of competition from power boats. If you don't already have it, the navionics app can give you a lot of great info on Ling holes near you. Pm me some time if you want a partner to hit the water with.

Might look you up next year. I'm thinking of a ling trip in May and know the west coast of SJ island pretty well.
