Yes, this is what I usually do after a whole day on lake water fighting and landing one (or a few) lake trout about 10 to 20 lbs each from bottom of 110 to 120 feet deep water:-):

Xiaolu, what is the thing which extends out from the left end of your front rack, and which you are using to keep your kayak from sliding off the top of your car when you're getting your kayak on top of it?  Is it a commercial item, or something you made yourself?

An advantage of aftermarket roof racks like Thule or Yakima racks is that you can get bars which are long enough to hold the kayak in place while you're sliding your kayak on top of your vehicle.

Hi, I use an extension pole that I bought from Home Depot (that extends from 2 feet to 4 feet, for room ceiling/roof painting, I think?)

And to keep kayak from sliding off the top of  car when getting kayak on top of it, I just use some (don't know the exact name) again from Home Depot (from the plumbing stuff shelves).

And I use tie-down strap to tie kayak to roof rack:

Cool idea right there!
