Hello, I am pretty new to Port Orford but not to the South Coast. I am going to be buying a kayak very soon because it is just perfect for the area. So I will be out and about shortly after getting my kayak.

Welcome. I grew up there and visit frequently and fish around there a few times a year still. I'm sure you will have a great experience with your kayak. Watch out for the whales.

Welcome!

There’s a few of us that fish the south coast regularly.

OMG.   That would be amazing.   Used to see the dolphins when I would chase reds and sea trout in Choctawatchee Bay in FL, but never a whale.   I can only dream!!!

Yeah, the whales just kept coming at us all day long, in little groups and big pods.

I live here but no longer fish here very often because of the wind and because the fish rarely pass the two taco test.  I head North or South, where the fish are bigger.

Welcome to the forum!

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
