Hey y'all,

I've gone through the ODFW regs a couple of times and I'm not seeing whether Scappoose Bay falls under a tidewater region of the Columbia or Willamette rules.  As far as I can see it's not called out at all.  Anybody know?  I asked the guys at the kayaking center and they weren't sure either.  Why the heck can't ODFW put useful maps in the regs?  It can't be that hard.

Tentatively planning to go out Saturday.  Looks like rain on and off through the day but I need some time on the water.  Folks are welcome to join if you like.  I'll be fishing for bass mostly.

Scappoose bay is connected to the Multnomah channel and the Multnomah channel is considered part of the Willamette river system for what that's worth. You can call ODFW if you have a specific concern though relating to it.

From the regs:

"Description
The Willamette Zone is all waters draining to the Columbia River between the city of St. Helens and Bonneville Dam, except for those portions of tributaries east of the Sandy River that are downstream from the Union Pacific Railroad line. Includes all waters on Sauvie Island except the Columbia River."

As noted, Scappoose Bay is a backwater of the Multinomah Channel, which drains to the Columbia just above St. Helen's. So Willamette Zone applies.
