Tillamook Bay Monday April 2nd (cancelled)

Looking like a good day to fish the bay if anyone would like to join me.

0700-0730 likely off the water around 1200-1300

Friday is a low tide at 0700 with sunrise also at 0700, that means we need lights on and launch at 0600 before first light. If your comfortable with that I have a light. 

Someone forgot he had an appointment on Friday but we won’t mention Guppy Tamer’s name. So Saturday if anyone is interested for bay fishing. 0745 low tide and 0657 sunrise means pre dawn launch around 0630 should put us at first light. Meet up behind the fish cleaning station at 0600 to rig. Any takers?

I will be headed over from Salem Saturday morning if anyone wants to carpool. I have room for one more kayak. I also have a Cobra fish and dive if anyone wants to borrow it. Incredibly stable ride.

Today was fun and the bite was ok, not hot, but fish were caught. We each took home a nice black rock mine 12’ Guppy Tamers a little bigger. I released 4 coppers and long distance released two unknown.  Finally put my fish scale to use on a couple of little fish 15 oz for mine and 1lb/2 oz. for his. One crab went home with G.T. as well as my catch ( I still got fish in da freezer).  Hopefully Monday is as much fun.

I saw on katu.com that a kayaker was rescued today in Tillamook Bay after flipping when setting crab pots. I wonder what happened. Rough conditions?

Just read that, must have launched after we landed. There was a canoe with a dog in it and his lady in a sit inside launching when we landed but we didn’t see any crab pots. I’ll check around local and see what I can dig up.

The lady came back with the dog before I left,  but didn't see the guy.  It was anything but rough while we were out.

An unexpected appointment will prevent me from hitting the bay on Monday. I’ll post up the next trip.
