I use an Okuma STS Hover rod. It’s only 7’9” and one piece, but I love it. I originally wanted to do a longer rod but reasoned against it due to the prospect of high stick breakage and maneuvering/handling. It was only $75.00 if I remember correctly. I fish out of a PA 12 and it worked well for me with kings, using a diver, rigger with flasher, and it worked OK for mooching. Great all around rod for the kayak.
