Rife lake silvers are on the list for this spring. Maybe tomorrow. But wondering if I can launch from the rest area that is right by the dam.  Not in the restricted area of course but if I could drag down to the water from beyond the barrier.  (See Pic)

Any intel?

I'd say go scope it out and look for metal signs that tell you otherwise.   Adjust your day accordingly. 8)

Yeah it would save some fishing time if anyone has done it.  I can see from google maps no camping and no fires sign but that is all I could see.  It will save about a mile of paddling and be easy if it is feasible.   If not then Mossyrock park.

Turn on the terrain mapping in Google maps, looks like a pretty steep slope from the rest area flats down to the beach.  Better have a strong pair of hands as a Sherpa :) to help with the dragging and hauling.

Nice catch Rox, Widge, if you decide to try it maybe post up the date.  Could be fun to watch.  Maybe a paraglideryak?

My only intel is from driving by there 2 years ago but it looked like a definite "no go" to me based on the terrain. I could be totally wrong and missed seeing a spot that would make it doable, but I don't recall anything that looked launch-friendly.

I fish Riffe a lot.  Don't launch from the north side, it is really steep.  Just go to mossyrock- great launch.  Charge $5 on weekends.  Not far to the dam, a quick peddle.  Good fishing on the way.

Thanks!   I realized that there is still just a 5 fish limit.  I was thinking there was a 10 fish limit there.  Tough to go 2+ hours for just five fish.  Might go an hour further and go to Merwin.

Ended up at American again.  On the list to try one of these days.
