I just posted my Redington CPS 896-4 for sale.  Just letting you know...

No one wants this rod?  http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=20160.0

These are the most admired fly rods Redington ever produced.  The CPS was one of the first of the fast action fly rods - although today they'd be considered moderately-fast - and are sought after overseas where folks don't care for modern American-made stiff fly rods... but we're not overseas.

I never used it because this rod will effortlessly fling a fly completely across the Elk or Sixes rivers where I fish, and when I started saltwater fishing, I didn't want to take a classic rod like this one out to sea.  I'm looking for a new home for it because someone just gave me a dedicated saltwater fly rod and now I'll never use this one.

I'm open to offers.

I just snapped the tip on my 5 weight moving it in my garage. One of those "how the hell did that even happen" moments.  Too bad this was an 8 weight.

Would you take a cheap 5 weight Redington with a broken tip 5 piece (modified from 4) and $50 in trade.  >:D

Oh, man!  We might have had a deal if it was a 4wt...    :P

Remember those Redington rods have a lifetime warranty.  They will replace the broken section or, more often then not, give you a brand new rod with no questions asked.  I’d be interested in both rods if I didn’t have 3 in each of those weight classes!

I had forgotten about that.

Okay, that 8wt is still laying around on the shelf in the closet.  I wish someone would get some use out of it because I can't.  Every time I take it out of the sock, I see how pretty it is, sigh, and put it away.

Now I have a 6wt Echo Boost Salt rod, 9'0", 4-piece I'd like to get rid of.  It's in 8.5 condition - the rod blank is just like new, but some of the filler fell out of the cork in the three times I've used it.  Rats!

I've only used the Echo 6wt in freshwater, but I just added a 5wt for fishing with teeny-tiny dry flies and the 6wt is excess baggage - until I hook a striper and curse the day I got rid of it.

Anyone want to make an offer?  I'm thinking $90, including shipping.
