Hi
Thanks for adding me.  I am fairly new to kayaking, I just went from a Intex Explorer 2 inflatable to a Lifetime Sport Fisher!  I am hoping to get some tips here on kayaking and fishing.

Hi Rob, and welcome to NWKA.  These are great folks (notice I didn't include ME in that praise) and you'll learn a lot.  Glad to have you onboard.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Hi Rob,

Welcome. There are a few of us in the Eugene area. But the GOOD kayak fishing spots aren't. But there are many great places within an hour or so in about any direction.

That inflatable would be excellent on the Umpqua for smallies right now. Both of those kayaks for that matter. There are a ton of costal lakes to the west, and trout and kokanee to the east in the high lakes and reservoirs. Then of course there is the big blue.. but that is a whole different ball game. In any case, please check out and get geared up on good safety gear and immersion wear for the cold waters.

If you are just getting your feet wet, check out the canal at Alton Baker Park. It is stocked often and many of the larger ones too. In fact they are stocking it right about now.
