Kinda saw that coming.  Anybody know any information on the longleader fishery within reach of a kayak launched from shore?  I'd be up for that trip if anyone has any ideas.

We should all have seen it coming after the non-scientific decision about bag limits.  Rats!

Wouldn't long-lining be a bit of a challenge in a kayak?  That's a long, long leader setup.

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I looked at the maps.  Looks like PO has the best structure close for kayaks to access the long leader fishery.  Coos Bay and wnchester bay also have kayak accessable structure outside the 40fm mark.  it would have to be a bluebird day though in either case.  I'd love to give it a go.  Do you have any reports locally for the long leader fishery?

I'll check with folks on the dock  and let you know.  I know everyone's bringing in bottomfish right now, but I didn't ask how they're catching them.

"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
--Edward Abbey--
