Looks like something a lazy redneck would use! I would rather take the time and fillet properly, and end up with nice, firm, and clean fillets.

I like that they aren't above a little innuendo in their ad.

It's actually a lot more more work than they make it out to be in the video.   You still have to remove the head, tail, anus and guts.  I'd also like to see the damage done to the fillets on the inside where the bones get ripped out by the ring sliding past.

Here's a diagram from the instructions.

I laughed when he said "My wife would like that!". I'm such a child some days.

Nice post Al! It's freakin' hilarious. The innuendo and the idea in itself. I think GD's right, it'd leave you w/ a pile of mush. I'm sure they sold a few in their day though.

I got one at a Joe's Parking lot sale last year for $3. It probably had been there since 1994.  Did anybody notice the small print that said "the fish should be dead (and left out in the sun) for six hours before deboning"? I wonder if that's to prevent Priapism?
I have not actually tried it yet, so once again "give me the helmet, I'll be the stuntman".  I guess I'm waiting till I get a plaid shirt and straw hat.  Next time I catch some trout I'll risk making one into cat food. Y'all think maybe I should just keep the helmet?

GD: Do you remember a certain post from averagefishermen that gave use our most coveted award?

Here's a reminder (although the good parts have been edited out)

It's still good for a good belly laugh.  :laughing7:

FFTW, are you offering me an exotic form of headgear? Maybe I do need a little more protection from the sun!

I always wondered where the tradition started. It brings new meaning to "pulling a boner"!
