Hello! Moved from Denver, CO to Tillamook County

I've been working to move to the coast for a lot of years now, and I finally did it.

I had a Malibu X Factor in Colorado but it didn't get much use so I sold it with the plan to pick something up when I got here. I usually fished at Jackson lake, and John Martin Reservoir out there if you're familiar with those places.

I got a good deal on a Wilderness Systems Radar 115 and am planning to pedal/paddle some lakes around here to get used to it before putting it in the bay.

I'm happy to be here, and while I mostly lurk on forums like this I'll definitely post if I ever catch any fish. So... we'll see how that goes.

I'd really like to get into rock fish in the bay, and find a nice system to catch crabs too.

Good for you for deciding to work the lakes before taking-on the ocean - or the Bay.  It's the smart thing to do.

Welcome aboard Jordan I lived in Garibaldi for the last 6 years and now live in Tillamook (should change my profile ). I don’t usually fish the winter season but will be glad to show ya around and give you any tips or pointers I can. Shoot me a PM with a phone number if you’d like.

Jordan,  check out Netarts if you have some time.  It can be a good intro to saltwater and tides.  Crabbing in the winter can be okay and good for clams, just watching the fast current on a minus tide.

My name is Rob and I am relatively new to kayak fishing.  I live in Ocean Park, WA (just north or you) and have done a lot of fishing in Tillamook bay when I had a boat.  I would be very interested in hooking up with you to fish in the bay out of my kayak.  I have a couple of PA12's that I bought last year.  The main thing that I can tell you about the bay is to watch the current very closely.  The tide can really make it rip.  I used to rock fish by the rocks on the northwest corner of the bay just off the bank near Hwy. 101.  It has been awhile since I have fished there but at slack tide is was pretty good.  I you are interested maybe we could get together to discuss this area.  Let me know
