Looks like the boat guy went out there in a plastic tote.

The local news site videos and the rescuers YouTube feed say he was in a FolBoat that collapsed.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Sounds Moore like a foolsboat, people think we’re crazy at least our boats aren’t origami! That dude got DAMN lucky, no radio in the ocean all by yourself, that’s just deadly!

At least the fellow in the Folboat was wearing immersion gear...
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

the video says it was a "Porta-boat" not a "Folboat",  two completely different watercraft.  https://www.porta-bote.com/
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

You getting a new ride?  :spittake: if someone takes that in the ocean be sure there’s plenty of GoPro footage as it folds in on them in the swells!

“Porta-potty” then? If it folds keep it out of the ocean, and don’t jump around too much! Either way the idiots damn lucky a kayaker was out there because there’s no motor to drown out his calls for help.... or he’d have been drown!

Still a foldable death trap.  Even the British commando's of Cockleshell Heroes fame used a more reliable design. (Klepper)
What worries me most is that the guy doesn't appear to be wearing a PFD .
