We had a church campout planned for 25 Mile Creek at Lake Chelan.  So I took the Wavewalk S4 and planned to stay a couple of days after and really focus on the fishing.  There were not a lot of fishing reports on the interwebs for August so my expectations were low.  But I soon discovered that kokanee can be found in August and in the early morning at least they are still reachable.

Wind (and corresponding waves) are the challenge at Chelan and make the fishing basically a morning thing until the wind comes up.  Planning for wind is one of the biggest things you do.  It can easily become too nautical and get ugly so that limits your range a bit.  But I was able to find fish relatively close in to the boat launch at 25 mile creek by heading down lake and focusing on a couple of points and coves that were close in.  I found kokanee in-between 45-60 feet on the downrigger early in the morning.  They would drop to 80 feet later but most of the time I was off the water by then.  There are some challenges and safety concerns with running too much cable in a lake where the wind can come up quickly as well as unexpected points of rock. I used an NTO Scent Spinner with an Arrowflash dodger and corn which caught most of the kokanee.  Fish were decent sized and the quality on the table was excellent.  Made some video of the adventures.

Enjoy
