I'm going to give this launch a try for the first time.  Not really expecting to hammer any salmon, but figured I'd scout it out with an 8 wt for the wayward coho or chinook and a 6 wt for some SRC.  Is there a best time as far as tides are concerned?  I'm fairly fit, but want to avoid any avoidable craziness if possible.  The green can is how far out???
Thanks for input.

Don't waste your time with Luhrs. If you want to fish for SRC launch at Boston Harbor and fish down Budd Inlet, you can cast at non biting coho if you feel like it too. Launching at Arcadia with have SRC on all the shorelines too. Honestly I'd just launch at Union cross the canal and fish the inside of the elbow or fish in the Chehalis for coho.

Thanks Workhard, I'm going to give Arcadia a try.  I like trying out new water.  That Hammersley Inlet must be like a river at the tide changes.  Seems like ideal water.

Screams through here, literally you can hear it. Might find some wandering squaxin net pen Coho, John's Creek near Shelton probably has some chum. South end of Hope island has some cutts and has an apple orchard if you want a snack.

Work hard has a,good point. Luhr has a,lot of hazards, besides being a non productive area. Several things contribute to that., But biggest problems are the giant tidal mudflat right at the launch, and the furbags that have taken over.

Mostly, its, used to go up the Nisqually to pull the nets the local tribe puts in. Or to go after starry flounder.

Arcadia is a gem!  Great launch, and the scenery reminds me of the San Juan's.  Really quiet fishing day.  Got a couple grabs from SRC and a follow.  Saw one salmon jump.  I only had time to fish around the state park island...saw the apples and was tempted....but held off as that's when I got a grab.
The water does move!  Incredible day to be out on the water.
I'm going to do the canal next.
BTW....that area has quite the deer problem!  Saw almost as many deer as my area has rabbits.
Thanks for the info Workhard.

Around those parts is really good for resident coho January-March. There's 10 raccoons for every deer on that little island. Camp there and shine a flashlight in the orchard, looks like a horror movie with hundreds of eyes lit up in the field and in the trees.
