Here are some healthy natives.  Nice day of fishing on Ochoco with my buddy, we wanted to test a new fish finder he got at Harbor Freight.  Basically a disposable unit, it uses AA batteries, waterproof (that's questionable  ;), good to 100 feet, and only cost 40 bucks.  It fits in your hand, about the size of a GPS but slimmer.  The transducer cord has a floating unit for dropping over the side.  Anyway it proved accurate as far as depth, and it stayed in a ziplock bag while we used it (raining).

Dude!  That is one monster rainbow!   :D

My boys couldn't stop saying "Oh My Gawwwwd!  That's Huge!" when they saw it.

Nice stringer full.  What was the average size?

Hola Spot, the average size was about 13 and the biggest 15.  That is pretty much the slot catch in Ochoco, with occasional 25 inch plus catches (not me, yet).

We had fun with the "castaic trout", he was released unharmed ;D.  I spied that fish in my kids play room and thought it would make a funny pic!  What is really funny is traffic slowing on the highway, watching us out on the lake with a giant trout!!!  Would love to know what was being said.  Luckily I haven't heard any rumors around town, Like..did ya hear about the ....caught in Ochoco? . ha ha ha
