Open invite 9:33 low tide so 7:30-8:00 launch 1.4 ft lie so calming might not be exposed enough we’ll play it by ear but bring a clam bag. Plan is clam if we can, drop crab traps and harass fish in the wall. Open invite launch from Garabaldi behind the still closed fish cleaning station.

Count me in.
I'm good with clamming or skipping it, but hopefully a few more crabs and more fish will be coming home with me.

There is a decent chance I will be there with you guys on Sunday at Tilly.  Planning on Nehalem Bay for salmon on Saturday if anyone wants to join - PM me (exact plans TBD).

Saw half dozen boats nosing around the ghost hole just after low tide today. Didn't see any nets waving, but did actually see a fish roll, so...

No action on the Nehalem for us between the 101 ramp and Wheeler, unless you count a foul-hooked sculpin. We did see a guide boat carving up 2 fish at the dock. I think they were fishing out by the jaws.

Wheeler dock was crazy. The Nehalem itself from the jaws up to the state park ramp looked like the Columbia off Sauvie Island. Many boats, much chaos. Looked like a LOT of crab pots out.

Well I had a good day, a very good friend of mine brought out a 12 ft inflatable with a 2.5 Coleman motor.... he hit a late start, couldn’t find us at first but once he started towards the jetty his motor died! It was about the time the wind picked up and we were pulling the crab traps. 3 out of 7 yaks were already heading into the narrows, I did a quick stow of my gear and headed towards the ghost hole thinking they were getting blown that way. Found them over the clam bed in about 3-4 ft of water with 2-3 ft weeds under us, had him toss me his bow line and turned and started pulling. At that point his comment was “Your going to tow us in?” My comment was “well I’m not leaving ya out here!” ..... as I’m pulling them in I’m fighting weed wrap on my prop, got cjweinhe, his kid, and Danny (lurker that better join) headed at us from the coastguard boathouse, got heliumhead, Jeff, and Jason Fornelli headed at us from the green can dodging 3 fast moving sleds... finally got someone close enough to grab the line so I can pull my prop, clear weeds and paddle out of the flats. So picture if you will a 12 ft inflatable with two Hobies on the right hanging on ( 1 revo 1 outback) a shorter Hobie (compass I think) on the left and 3 other yaks chain pulling the bow line. Probably not the best time to practice self recovery but hey there’s one in every flock...... I hear Jason splash behind me after getting clothes lined with the tow rope.... not sure exactly how it happened because it was behind me. After the yard sale was over We towed the inflatable in and Danny and I took them up to the boat ramp dock so they could get loaded up.
Back to the report 15 clams fir me 4 black rock fish, 6 nice crabs, and a 12 ft inflatable. Gifted most of my catch to my buddy with his tail between his legs cuz he never even got to drop a crab pot.
Pics or it didn’t happen right?

I swear, I figured it would be a great time to practice self recovery, and have been planning on doing it. “No time like the present”, they say. Oh, I should have things leashed in? Crap, now you tell me...

So, if anyone should end up finding a large “wallet” with about 4 or 5 2oz lancer jigs and 2 4oz lancer jigs, along with my glasses, I’d really just like to get my glasses back. You’re welcome to the jigs.

And, what happened was Mojo was out at the front of the bow line. I was next but there was a big gap. Jeff was behind me and said I need to move forward towards Mojo. I start doing that, but the line was on my left and I think I was the only one heading left. Everyone else was heading right, so the line caught on my net and it was enough pressure to dump me in the drink.
Honestly, I should have been holding the line on my right anyway since I only have rudder control on my left.

Hot Tub Tide Machine diverted from Nehalem to Memaloose on a hot tip, but we got about 1/2 way to Dick Point into a 15 kt headwind and 2+ kts of inbound tide. Whitecaps all around us, and we said "eff this" and headed back to the barn.
