Hello yakers,

I’m a 60 year old guy, grew up in Tigard, then had a career with the Hillsboro Fire Department before moving to Kenya with my wife to work in a Children’s village for 9 years. After returning to the states after too many years without fishing, the wife and I purchased fishing kayaks. I’m currently breaking in my Predator PDL and my wife will fish from a Topwater. I would love to follow someone out of Sunset Bay when the seas calm down, so that I can learn from someone willing to teach. I’m very comfortable on the water - was rescue boat operator and water rescue qualified at work. I have a radio and suit, so if anyone has a teachers heart, I’m a willing student! Other than that, I will try to learn Umpqua smallmouth, salmon, and steelhead, as well as learning to target the sturgeon, crab, stripers and Redfin Perch in the bays and estuaries.

Thanks for allowing me to join you all and best of luck to you wherever you fish and whatever you fish for,

Ted

Welcome aboard. Once the weather calms down people will be letting it be known about getting out into Sunset Bay and other surrounding areas.

Welcome Ted!

Usually just a few days notice but I try to post up when I'm planning to launch out of Sunset Bay.  My freezer is ling free, so I'm keeping an eye on MagicSeaweed for the next 'go' day.   cheers, roger

Welcome. I'm at Bandon about 25% of the time and am also looking for someone to go with at either Sunset or Port Orford. Feel free to make contact when you do go.

I'm what?  Chopped liver?

Chances are we'll run into each other, Ted.  Welcome to NWKA.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Mr. Run, for you, I'll make myself available.  It's been too long since I last joined-up with you.

Thanks all for the welcome. Looking forward to getting on the water with some of you. For now, I’ll stick to regular trips to the Coos Bay - Bandon area for surf perch until we can get out.

Welcome!
I just bought a place in Drain, and wanted to start trying out the Umpqua.
Let me know if/when you'd like to fish it!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Hi all, usual Pacific Citier here visiting Port Orford from 3/22 to 3/27. New grounds for me. Have my Hobie with me if weather permits and anyone wants to head out.

Thanks,
Barrett
