Well, shit. I just talked to him last week on another site and he seemed to be...wait, no, it was personal email on the 2nd of Oct. He had some fly rods he wanted to donate or sell... and the last of that convo was on the 4th, and he seemed in good spirits.

Several of us here are also members of the fly fishing site he had joined just a year ago, I think. He'd been posting as Tinker, there as well.

Would one of you please inform them of his passing? Many knew him far better than I did, and i dont feel qualifed to pass on the notice.

<Edit 3 Nov.> I posted notice of his passing on PNWFF this morning under the heading "An Irishman Passes" if those who are members there too would like to add their memories of him.
