If you haven't checked yet, 2026 is a big increase year, especially the combined angling tag ($46 to $69). If the recent pattern holds, costs will stay basically the same for 2027 and 2029 with smaller increases in 2028 and 2030.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Key Details of the Fee Increases (Resident Rates)
2026: First increase since 2020; about 12-14% jump.
2028 & 2030: Additional smaller increases (around 6-8% each year).

Examples of Fee Changes
Resident Annual Angler: $44 -> $50 (2026) -> $53 (2028) -> $56 (2030).

Combined Angling Tag: Rises significantly to fund salmon/steelhead management.
Youth Licenses: Kept at $10 to encourage participation.

$9 Ocean endorsement: Required for most anglers fishing in the ocean from beaches, jetties, and boats for anything except salmon, steelhead, and shellfish (basically rockfish, lingcod, halibut, and tuna).  Funds will support critical surveys for popular marine species like black rockfish and build on survey techniques pioneered by ODFW's Marine Fisheries Research Team.

Why the Increases?
Inflation: Fees haven't kept up with rising costs since 2020.
Program Needs: Funds hatchery maintenance, invasive species prevention, and surveys for species like rockfish.
These changes were approved by the Oregon Legislature and apply to resident and non-resident licenses, with proportional increases for non-residents.

Yeah, it is all great.....

WA is raising their prices big time as well.

I did some math yesterday and saw that it will be spending around $650 in licenses and fees for my wife and I in the coming months (first renewals for OR in-state at Jan 1st and then renewals for WA-out-of-state at Apr 1st). That doesn't even include any parking.

From a bright side: the best way to make it all worth it IS TO FISH A LOT!!!

yeah, my full 2026 slate was $141 (license, tag, shellfish, ocean) so I'm thinking my first limit of 12 dungeness crab and 1 lingcod from CoosBay in January is going to cover that.

Well, $206.75 for all my tags and licenses this year...
That's fishing and shellfish license, 2 rod validation, combined angling tag, waterway permit, ocean permit, and Columbia endorsement.
Then I'll have to spend another $150 to register my Fluxjet in July.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

well, the $150 is the initial title and 2 year registration, not the annual cost.

My 12.5' Outback registration is $85.35 for 2 years and that includes the waterway access permit for it, so my 2026 total for tags and licenses was $141 (I don't need the 2 rod, Columbia endorsement, or the $22 waterway access because I'm not planning to use any other un-registered watercraft this year).

so for 2026, I'm at $141 + $85.35/2 to register the Outback= $181.67.  I'm still feeling good about my first trip to CoosBay this month should cover that (dozen crab and a lingcod..or 2...or 3.. ;D.  OK, maybe toss in a winter steelhead from the bank.

cheers, roger
