Bouy 10 Launch

Have had good luck last few years launching the kayak at Hungry Harbor and fishing Shipwreck. Last year went out with a buddy in a PB and out closer to the mouth I saw a couple kayaks that I am assuming launched from the beach in the picture. Looking for a different option and wondering if anyone has experience launching there?

its a common launch for kayakers.  Just make sure you ride the tides

I have launched from there several times and its a great place to launch a kayak. I have also caught coho from the shore there as well.

I agree, know the tides and have a plan (and a backup plan). The tides there are no joke. You will not be able to pedal against a strong ebb.

Best on a low tide at dawn. Easy launch as rigs allowed on beach. Good crabbing there too. Don’t overstay beyond slack as flows are significant.

Thinking about different launches for Buoy 10, with safety and ease as primary concerns. 
What are the thoughts about launching from the WA side at Fort Canby?
I know the heavy boat traffic out of Ilwaco is a concern, so visibility is important and keeping a good lookout.
Any other thoughts?

Anyone thinking of fishing Sat 8/8?  Incoming tide in the morning with a small tide exchange later. 

I am definitely going. I will be launching at Hungry Harbor sometime around 7-8. High tide looks to be around 11a just above the bridge. Will fish until the tide gets going out in earnest and get out while the water is still at the beach. Reports have been pretty good, so hoping to bonk a URB.   May do Sunday as well depending on Sat success or lack thereof. Staying in Seaside for the weekend so will take advantage of the last "any chinook" day for now.

Cool, I may see you out there. I have to be off the water by 11:45 or so, so planning on getting there around 6 or 6:30.
