On the water at about 1.30 PM. Man that place was packed. People everywhere. Lots of boaters and bankies.

Couldn't find my trout rod so I had to use my steelhead rod. Couldn't find much trout gear so I had to use the only rig I had. I think I had one bite right off the bat. Don't know how long it was biting, but I glanced up and my rod tip was dancing. Couldn't get to the rod fast enough.

The other yak in the water had a fish on for a moment but lost it. Saw one PB net a fish.

Several bankies had stringers of fish in the water.

First time out at Hagg. It's a beautiful area.

Only complaint is I got charged a buck to use the boat launch, even though I didn't use it. Small potatoes, I know.

Side note - Also floated the Tualatin on Saturday. My dad and I followed a coyote up the bank along hole 9 at the Tualatin Country Club. Floated from Tualatin Park just past Cook Park and back.

Hagg is nice, but I really want to check out Barney Reservoir one day. It's a bit farther than Hagg, but doesn't have power boats and is pretty untapped.  I think it's open for CnR cutthroat fishing, but I might be wrong.

Until then I think we should have a Portland crew get together up at Hagg.  Maybe we can wait a month or so when both trout and bass are decent options.

I was at the park in Tualatin on Saturday as well.  I was walking, though.  My little boys were antsy and I figured it was a good place let them blow off steam.  But then we got screamed at by a homeless guy starting what looked like a bonfire at a picnic shelter.  I saw a lot of kayakers and was feeling a little jealous.

Can't wait for the huli report. We were out from 9-11ish. I'd like to try and make a habit of it.
