Ok, picked up the yak tuesday went for an evening paddle at out of john wayne marina to test it out and had a beautiful few hours, just me and the seals. Last night i hooked up the FF and now i have sat in the boat here at work wondering where the best spot for the rod holder would be.  It is a ram revolution so it is very adjustable but with the ff on board now the dynamics of the deck space changes. If this were your yak where would you put the rod holder? I have yet to fish in a kayak, can't get the resident license till april, so I am hoping to get some feedback on where it would be most useful. I attached a pic of the harpoon that just came in the mail today. it is cool because you can screw in a "mop handle of any length", being in a kayak a 6 foot harpoon might be more crazy than going for halibut in the strait in the first place. anyway thanks for the help ahead of time. yessnoo offered the tip on using the cutting board to mount the gps antenae... I used his idea then i cut out a little extension, took a heat gun to it , flexed it and it made a perfect location for the radio clip. thanks, all.
a happy doug with his new used kayak in sequim.

The places where I've seen other Prowler owners put their rod holders is either on the flat sides directly to the side of your FF (fish finder). Or on the center console where the small tackle box storage w/ bungee is.

FisHunter's rig (rod holder on center console) of NorCal w/ Lingzilla onboard

PolePole's Rig (w/ rod holder on flat spot) w/ Cabzillas on board

thanks Zee, I decided on as far forward as i could on the tackle tray in the center. It doesn't seem like it is in the way of seeing the screen and leaves me a lot of room around my lap area. Several folks on this site have posted to keep things simple. I can understand that now. It doesn't take long to have too much clutter. thanks again. I have done a lot of looking around on the web and this site beats them all on patience with us new guys and helpful info. thanks, doug

Zee--That looks like East Point in the distance and the slope on the east side of San Juan Bay in the distance behind Polepole--that right?

I wish we had cabs like that nearby. Try the south end of VI. ;) Sombrio to be exact.
