My ping seems to be intermittent and goes from showing a nice signal with accurate depth, to wacky signal and blinking depth.

If someone local has a HST-WSU 20º wide angle 200khz transducer that has the D shaped plug that fits the Eagle, or Lowrance, could I bother you for minute.

I'd like to plug in my Cuda 250 to your 'ducer and make sure it's not the main unit.  Then I can go about picking up a new 'ducer.

Should be the same on any of these units.

Had the same problem w/ another member. Plugged into mine, fine. On his blinko blinko. Not sure if he ever got to the bottom of it all.

Hmmm, hope you don't have a short. The wires in the the signal cable are pretty fine and break fairly easily. (and you didn't even have to ask)
My power wire developed a short and spontaneously repaired itself :dontknow: I assume the arc "welded" itself back together. I've moved the wires around and can't open the circuit again ??? Oh, I'm sure it'll come back to haunt me, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

I have Sun/Mon off but get home around 6:30 other days. You're welcome to come by anytime, just give me a heads up. I'm sure we can cook up a few extra vittles too.

Update:
1. steelheadr was kind enough to let me try my 250 with his 'ducer, and his 250 against my 'ducer.  I don't think we got good results as we only had about 4" of water to work with.  Thanks for the time helping, Jay.

2. I went ahead and drove out to Fisherman's Marine in Delta Park (Portland) to pick up a new replacement 'ducer.   They happened to have them in stock and cheaper than what I could find online at $55.  Anywho, I brought it home and set up a 5 gallon bucket of water filled to the brim and set it in the garden where it had solid contact with the ground.  Started my test with my old 'ducer and though everything was honky dory with it as it locked on to a depth (although showing 2.3' - 2.5').  I held it there aimed level, while I wandered through some of the screens and settings. Then went back to the depth screen and it was flashing, then locked on for a sec, back to flashing, etc..  hmmm?   Time to try the new one.
Hooked up everything and held the 'ducer in the same place at the top of the bucket.  It locked on to a depth, a lot closer to the real depth of 1.1' - 1.2' to boot!   Sweet, progress!    I then held it in place for over 10 minutes and it only lost signal if I pulled it out of the water for more than 3 second or so.  Once back in the water, it locked back on pretty quick and held depth properly.

While fiddling around the screens earlier I turned on the water temp to see how the 'ducers measure up against two other forms of temperature reading devices.  I have a digital thermometer with a metal probe for measuring damn near any liquid, and it read the water as 56ºF.  The wife's digital meat/fry/candy thermometer read 58ºF.   Both my good and bad 'ducers read 67ºF / 68ºF respectively.    Not sure what to think of this, but I don't usually use the water temp option anyways, so I'll just leave it at that.  Now I just need to pull the retarded 'ducer wiring out of the yak and install the new one.
