Great Fishing This Weekend

It was raining pretty hard on Saturday, but I went up to one of the local lakes that had just opened but it was too windy for kayaking. Headed back into the valley, still raining, but dead glass. Rainbows were really biting, caught about ten in a few hours. When the rain stopped, the fish stopped biting.
I also had my license checked by a wildlife officer so make sure you have yours with you.

That's great.  I can't remember the last time I had mine checked in Oregon or Washington.  I wish we could fund more officers for enforcement. I'm sure violations that are actually ticketed are only .01% of those occurring.

Isn't that dam scheduled to be breached this winter? 

We've got the Spring Chinook run going on around here; The Little White and Salmon Rivers are a floating zoo of power boaters, float tubers and just about anything else you can think of as well as the trout season just getting under way so there is a large congregation of fishermen here right now. Whatever officers are around would be in the general vicinity.
He was a little surprised when I told him I caught more than ten fish and threw them all back.
