 now if i can come up with the money.. comeing down to Oregon would be fun. but i dont have my oregon license either.

Not a bad thing, Washingtons ok, i grew up there for a time myself...

Try trolling with a tiny Kwikfish or Flatfish (F2).  Put a 1/2 to 1 oz worm sinker above your swivel and a 2-5 foot leader.  Start trolling shallow and after each non-productive run drop down another 5-10'.  A run should be a complete downwind/upwind circuit unless you have a FF/GPS and you can maintain the same trolling speed in both directions.
