The weather is gorgeous in Portland today and I'm stuck at work, as usual.

Who's fishing? What did you catch? Let's see and hear about it....

Well I met up with Yak Monkey and Huntinhck for some lake trout out off of highway 3 just outside of Shelton at Benson Lake.  the fish were teasing and biting.. Carl (hutnhck) limited out in about 2 hours or so and paddled around for a few.. Then YM showed up and we all sat and fished and talked then i limited it out and i dont know what YM did .. he had a few when i left.

This was my first time ever fishing from my kayak or a boat of any form. i have been a bankie all my life... Boy what i was missing i had a blast.

Here are some pics i took.

I spent the day at Hagg paddling back into the creeks looking for bass.  Saw once huge one back there by Tanner creek, but could not get it to bite.  Trout were not biting anything I put out, so all I caught was a some minor sunburn.   :-\   The wind in the main channels was tad annoying, as it blew me across the water too fast for bottom fishing (didn't take my anchor with me).

Nice day, and at least 20 random kayaks out there just paddling around.

No kayak fishing for me this Saturday, but I did manage to take my son Owen to Canby Pond south of Portland.  It's well stocked by ODFW for kid's only and Owen limited out in about 2 hours and he missed another half dozen bites in the process.

It's a nice park and as a bonus they have a decent playground for when Owen get's bored of fishing.

When we got home I had Owen help me with cooking his trout.

Maybe next weekend I'll get some time on the kayak again.

Ooops, looks like my picture links failed before.  They should work now.

That's an awesome idea! Love the stoke on his face.
