Yes - I know its a holiday weekend.  And yes, I know its short notice, and that the keepers are migrating downriver to Astoria, and that bass action is heating up, and I'm sure there are a few other reasons not to fish for dinos in the Willamette.  But still, I finally replaced my poor lost paddle from the Sucia fish slam, and I need to get back out on the water, and I have some frozen smelt in the freezer and I only have tomorrow evening free.  So I'll take one last shot at Willy Dino this spring at George Rogers park tomorrow, Friday, May 22.  Anyone is welcome to join me.  I should be on the water by 5 PM at the latest - until dark.  But I'm hoping to get out a little earlier.

And yes, I will take a spinning rod with some plastics and a drop shot in case I get blanked on the sturgeon.  Can't hurt to cast into the rocks for a smallmouth.  Ya' never know.

Sounds tempting.

I was hoping to sneak out, but my boss is in town from the East Coast and I probably should grab a beer with him after work.

Brian.  You can have a beer with your boss and fish for sturgeon at the same time you know.

You didn't miss much.  No dinos.  No skunk either thanks to one large pikeminnow which I dispatched and sent back down without success.

Opposing wind and current made it a bit challenging.  Still - the sunset was fantastic.

I suppose I'll have to meet up with Mr. Keeper near Astoria this summer.  Let's plan on some estuary lip pulling soon.
