Limits were not as quick as yesterdays 29 minutes but the water was flatter.  We did manage to get limits of nice blacks and 2 pretty nice lings in 15-30' of water and done in 2 hours.

Considering a kayak adventure for my birthday tomorrow rather than working on my driftboat.  Anyone else game if the bar is open?  I'm thinking in the morning before the wind picks up.

Coho are showing  :o

Sooo... that would be 51! Poor devil.  :( Trust me, it gets worse, but as the mind goes you start to forget how "it used to be" so it all just evens out. :-\

Yup, I'm up for DB tomorrow. What time you thinking about launching?

It gets better.  GF gave me 30 days to find a new place this morning!  Great Bday present.  Oh well, she loses.  I was just awarded SSD on Monday and my VA should be at 100% by the end of the month - all tax free for life!

We'll meet at the south entrance to the harbor.  Turn right at the Shell station and go down the hill.  I'll be the grey truck in the disabled spot or on the dock.

You and anyone else has to travel sou pick the time.  Anytime after 7 is OK with me.  Don't forget to call the CG before you depart to make sure the bar is open.  If it is and not too rough we could go off a beach.  My cart hasn't arrived yet so I'd need assistance getting the yak to and from the parking lot.

For all,

Wind have picked up a little.  Ca DP CG before heading over.  We're still planning on 7:30ish unless the bar is closed.

04:28.  We're experiencing a major squall with over an inch of rain in less than a half hour.  Thunder and lightening.  By the time I could report in to NOAA and wake up enough to type this out it passed through.  This should knock the wind down.  Don't know what it'll do to the bite.

Wow, 1.10 inches of rain in 2 hours.  I can tell I've got to get out and clean the rain gutters.

Bar is back open with no restrictions.
No wind - very still and the waters calm.

I'm still game for today.  Say noonish?

Sure, I'm in. I'll be there a little before noon. I'll leave Corvallis around 10:15.  Give me a call if the weather kicks up again.

See you at the docks.

Ended up having a good day on the water. The weather turned out great, and the bite was OK. We ended up bringing in about 15 fish amongst the 3 of us. FishSniffer was the photographer  this trip. I expect he'll be posting pics of the  days catch.

Sorry CH; wish I could manage 2 days in a row, but the  guilt would eat me alive. Maybe next weekend?

Made it out there today,  I dident do too well though.  4 underlings, 24" and 25" lings for dinner and 2 little cabs.  There were quite a few boats comeing back in when I did seems like the blacks were on pretty good out further and one guy I talked to had two really nice lings 34" or so and a chance hali.  Said he was fishing in about 80' of water off of spanish head.

CrazyHammer, sorry we missed you.  I'd have gone but my arm is sooo sore today.  3 days of limits and near limits trying to upgrade.  Yes, the fish moved out further after that squall.  In any case I was able to post my first AOTY fish, a 23" cabezon.  Mike (Wannabe) and my buddy Chris didn't do to bad either.  Lots of cabs but all the big blacks we'd been catching the past 2 days had moved out deeper.
