Had a few hours to fish so I took my Yak down to Devils Lake. Was out about 30 min when I saw a small boat in the middle of the lake with 2 adults and 2 small children. Looked like they were paddling against the wind, trying to get to shore. They we're not making any progress, so I paddled over to see if I could help. There were several  power boat that drove by them before I got there. They had run out of gas, I offered my cell phone but had nobody to call. So I offered them a tow, we tied a line to the back of my kayak and headed to shore. It took about 15 minutes of hard paddling but we made to someones dock and I was to my fishing. Caught 2 trout and another fish I don't know what it was, maybe someone can tell me what it was. Looked like a miniature ling cod.

That is freakin' beautiful man.  I can't tell you how many PB'rs I've had to help with misc. problems but I've never had to tow one.  Love the photo proof!   ;D

The sculpin hit a wedding ring w/ a worm when I was trolling for the trout.

There's that sculpin again.  I caught one just like it bottom fishing for sturgeon in the Willy.  They're everywhere.  Nice work on the tow.

You're helping to give kayakers a good reputation. With the guys I hang out with, we need all the help we can get.

Nice job on the fish and the rescue.

FYI, sculpin fillets make great cutthroat bait.
