Looks like I'm going to be camping this weekend (June 20th - 21st) at Cape Disappointment State Park near Illwaco, WA and I may have some time to go fishing.

Anyone have any gems to share about where to fish around there (with 30 mins drive)?  I'm not picky.. saltwater, freshwater, kayak, shore, etc..

Thanks.

Brian

I've been out around there, and with 7 ft swell, I'd probably stay inside. Everything seems bigger there with the big outflow from the river hitting the swell. I haven't fished there, but seems like the north jetty would be the spot...That's where I usually see the PB's.

i say just launch at Ilwaco and cross the bar  :o  ok, maybe not.  Willapa bay is nearby with lots of launches to be had.  fish around the mouth of the Naselle river.

while not a fishing spot, there is a great spot to go for a little picnic or just some chill time called Deadman's Cove inside the mouth of the river around the corner from the Coast Guard Station.  nice quiet place that not many peolpe know about. very light surf landing on the beach there.
